Sherman Park: A Legacy of Diversity in Milwaukee (Brief History) Reviews
Why was this written? I guess if you only want, essentially, one aspect of the history of the neighborhood, fine. But I would've appreciated a bit more. When I saw that there was a book written about this area of Milwaukee, I was really looking forward to reading it. And I was just let down. I guess what would've made it better for me would've been a history of the area BEFORE it officially became known as "Sherman Park" (as in the history of the land/area as early as possibly). And that should've eventually led up to the Sherman Park neighborhood that is known today. Of course, everything that was written in this book would've been included in that one. The one that I would've preferred. For me, to have a "complete" history of the area, that would've been a good read. I don't know. This was just a horrible disappointment. Again, I must make my statement that it is with books like these that I thank God for the library. I would've hated to have spent a penny on this.
